Which boots / shoes to buy - decisions...decisions...

I know this isn't strictly z running question, but I'm trying to decide what boots / shoes to buy for walking the dog. I'm finding my current ones too uncomfortable and 'hard'.

I've seen a pair of Berghaus boots but are they going to be too heavy etc for summer?

Or do I get more of a running trainer that I know are cushioned and therefore more comfortable and I could always use for jogging too?

Decisions, decisions....

What do you guys/gals wear when walking the dog? (Or just walking)

Merrels which I bought from millets. I find them really comfortable.

How about a trail running shoe? It would keep your feet dry and supported but allow you to break into a run if the urge takes you.

Good question. Have been wearing my old trainers for doggy walks but they are on the way out. Although they support feet well, the breathable mesh stuff on top does let in the dew, so not ideal. Will look at those trail running shoes!

I use my running shoes for walking the dog and use road or trail shoes. If it's rocky I put my proper walking boots on, which better support my ankles. Mine were £50 but they will last me ages. Hi-tec waterproof leather ones

I've got Merrell walking sandals & karrimor walking boots & karrimor trail shoes.

I've had my sandals for years, and bought my boots in a sale in Millets about 6 or 7 years ago, both have loads of life left in them & I wear my boots in all weathers.

Not what you're looking for?
