What's the best app for running?

I finally got a fancy phone and would like to get an app for running (mapping, speed, etc). If such app has an additional fitness and maybe nutrition section would be great. Any suggestions?

All the phone apps are hindered by the hardware not being up to the standard of the dedicated GPS systems and as a consequence do not always find/maintain signals or track all that accurately. I have tried free versions of Endomondo and Runkeeper, both of which have calorie burning data, but not nutrition, as far as I know.

I am sticking with Runkeeper as it allows me to programme intervals and has the delightful Gwendolen giving notifications of current and average pace/speed, distance covered and time elapsed, over the top of my own music choices. The mapping is as good as the GPS in your phone allows and also gives free plans for 5k through to marathon training. The current pace figures are very flattering but for some reason, totally over the top.

PS Runkeeper can link to Myfitnesspal too.

Endomondo can send data to myfitnesspal (possibly others can too). The other app I rate is strava because of it's sections functionality.

Try a few and see what you think.

I used to use mapmyrun but recently switched to Endomundo (paid version) as it links to myfitnesspal and also my Fitbit. I also like the ability to plan new training programmes which I'm hoping to do and then be able to download them to my iPhone if and when I get through these 9 weeks!

No love for MapMyRun?

That's what I use, as I'm still using the podcasts so can't listen to anything else.

Just keep my phone in my pocket and it tells me the route, elevation etc.

Seems pretty accurate to me, but then I live in London so I guess reception is decent
