Started the first day of Couch to 5k, legs like jelly but soooo happy to have completed it. Feel so much better. I had a 40+ health check a few weeks ago and my cholesterol came back as 6!!! Really shocked me as i have lost 1 1/2 stone to reach my target weight so found this challenge. Should have done it before, but better late than never eh?

Well done for getting out there. Its only a matter of time before you get the running bug. Good luck with the program!

Hi Sewingbee and welcome to this forum. You've overcome the hardest part and I had jelly legs after my first run too. If you stick with the program you should get a lot of health benefits and the support from the people on this forum is excellent. Keep posting so we can see how you're getting on - it's also useful to reflect back when you graduate. Good luck

Thanks Mazzero, i have tried jogging/running before but had no luck, so this podcast is brilliant. I had to 'borrow' my sons walkman - after finding out how to use it - but it is so helpful. Will keep posting my results. Thanks again x

Well done and well done on your weight loss too. I've got just over a stone to lose to my goal and its not easy. I've just completed my first week today. We can only get better.

As Mazzero said the hard part is getting out of the door to start running. Well done. Loads of rewards await you!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!

As others have said, getting out of the door is the biggest (and hardest step), but when you get out all your anxieties simply slip away.

Good luck, keep running and keep us informed.

Thanks Sallycycle, i have just done run 2 of the 1st week and already have noticed i had to go a little further to complete the session, and this time I didn't stop short of the 2nd from last 60 second run, legs don't feel as bad either. It must be doing me some good. thanks for your support. x
