Hi, out on my morning run and noticing how the dark is starting to creep in. I realised that if I'm going to keep up the running I need to invest in some more "climate suitable" gear. Has anyone any good advice about types of rain proofs?

Hi DizzyMum a lot can depend on your budget I started out with an inexpensive Karrimor from SportsDirect cost about £12.00 from memory but did the job. Then my hubby treated me to a Salomon Trail jacket which is the bees knees (in my opinion) it was about £50 in a sale normal price about £90 I think. Be careful though about buying on line, if you can find the type of jacket you want first they really to vary in style and size and some are quite fitted which can be a bonus when its windy.
Forgot to say I have a Ronhill running cap which I love, wear it in all weathers, keeps the sun off, stops the rain getting in my eyes, also the snow. Also helps to prevent heat loss in the winter time, worth every penny. Dries quickly and after 18 months of loads of use still looks like new.
Thanks for the advice. A fitted jacket and a cap sounds a good idea with the wind off the Irish Sea. I don't mind getting wet to much, but wet and cold is bad.
You'll be surprised how quickly you warm up even on the coldest wettest days in winter, so long as you keep moving briskly on your cool down too. Its lovely to jump into a hot shower afterwards. You may want to consider a pair of running gloves too, but wait and see how you get on some people don't feel the cold in their hands, I most certainly do.
