Week 3 Run 1. Very good then bad.

Just done week 3 run 1. Really enjoyed it and was surprised to find that I could run for 3 minutes. I might even have been dangerously close to getting into a rhythm at one point!. Got a bit kerfuffled on how far I went though and ended up further away from base that I needed to be so did an extra 3 minute run on the way back. Very happy at that point but since stopping I've got a lot of pain in my left achilles so I'm now like a limpy gazelle. I've taken some Ibruprofen and will be resting tomorrow in the hope it will go away and I will be OK for Wednesday.

Anyone else had this issue and any other ideas to get fixed?

I just took six weeks off for similar - but I tried to power through the first signs of pain and was quite gimpy even on off days. If it is worse after Wednesday - I'd suspect achilles tendonitis. You might to OK to keep on with it nagging if it doesn't build - lots of folks claim to do same, but time to start treating too. Check out eccentric strengthening excercises and some stretches and baby that left ankle for a bit.
