Began again today! W1 R1

Very hot, very pleased I've done it, I just hope I can keep it up, the most I've ever managed is 2 runs. Then I've fallen by the wayside. This is the first time I've posted, so hoping I can break through this time. Doing this for weight loss and I would just love to be able to run properly, some of the posts I've read are amazing. Using a treadmill, daren't take to the streets until the nights are darker!

Hi, and Congratulations on your first run post :) The folk here are very supportive. I hope you keep coming back as it will help you share your success with people that understand exactly how you feel at various stages. Well done and good luck with Run 2. Don't forget to check the after run stretch exercises too, they are very important and will help you recover faster.

I didn't think I would be able to do it but just started week 5 and hanging on in there! the support here is amazing and will keep you motivated. I too was scared to go outside but now just stick sunglasses on and pretend I'm invisible!!

Think I may need more than sunglasses, thanks for the encouragement.

Congratulations for taking the first step again! Everyone is really supportive in this forum and I've found, since I've started the programm, that coming here kept me motivated to go working out and running all the way. I stopped reading the posts for a few weeks and my motivation went down so here I am again! Lol.

Believe in yourself - you can do it!! :-)

Well done you have taken the biggest step of all. Don't be shy to run outside most people will think you are great and wish they would do the same. Keep dipping into this site lots of supportive runners and friends on here to help newbies through the rough and the smooth times.

Congratulations on your first post this forum is brilliant and a big part of the reason why I have graduated. Remember "No matter how slow you run you're lapping everyone on the couch! "

Godd running!

A little tip for you. As you say your motivation is weight loss, I would suggest that rather than being obsessed with the scales, measure yourself, waist, hips, thighs, and keep a check on your measurements rather than weight. Many of us have been disappointed at actual weight loss, certainly early on, and yet manage to trim inches. It's easy to become disenchanted with the effort put in/weight loss ratio, but the loss of inches is a real boost.

good luck!
