W1 R1 completed today

Finally conquered my shyness & self conciousness and got out to do my first run this afternoon. I was disconcerted that I quickly got breathless but the weather was foggy and cold which didn't help I guess but I really hope that I will get better in time. I surprised myself that I was able to complete the session because I found from the go-get that running outside is a lot more strenuous than on a treadmill. Need to invest in a lightweight running jacket and gloves as got overheated in my hoodie. Feeling positive but tired 😊

I did my W1R1 this evening. I used my cycling jacket over a single layer. That gives you some protection from wind as well as being lightweight (and high visible).

Thanks for your suggestion, I will pop into local Sports Direct and see what they have 😊

That's where I got mine. Muddy Fox range is cost effective. Check size, as I find with them I need to buy a size bigger than normal.

Good luck with the rest of the programme.

Brilliant for you getting out in the great outdoors...especially if you feel a bit shy about doing it. the good thing about running gear is it makes you invisible! Unless like me you have Norah Batty leggings that droop disconcertingly!

Congrats and good luck for the rest of your runs

Thank you. I feel self concious and such a fraud in my running gear. I have lost nearly 3 stones now through diet and exercise so my running tights are a bit slack and droopy too! Going to treat myself to proper fitting gear once I reach target weight 😊

No defrauding being done, if you run then the running gear is perfectly fine. Check out tikiboo for when you’re feeling brave on patterns, they are fab!

Thank you for the link. Really enlightening especially about the doing too much too soon. I will try to conciously hold back on the speed of running rather than trying to run as fast as I can now that I have read the experiences and wisdom of other 😊 thsnk you for your encouragement 😊
