Went out today and I am very pleased to say I kept running,
I never gave up,
Started off well, good pace, good form.
started to struggle on my second lap of the field,
the third, I was ready to give up, drenched, and had drunk my whole bottle of water, legs ached, couldn't breathe, couldn't lift my legs or stand up straight.
Peeked at my phone and the map was wrong again, so not exactly sure how far I ran,
Really struggled on the 4th lap, I couldn't face the hill, so I ran back and forward along the bottom of the hill where its 'relatively flat', done 3 times, really struggled, was barley moving at times.
The week 9 podcast came to an end,
I kept going, and suddenly the mental barrier broke, just like that, like a click of the fingers,
Done 2 more back and forwards, I felt great, improved my posture lifted my legs, breathing went back to normal, increased my speed and enjoyed every minute of it. Finished on 34 minutes and 9 seconds. which if my distance is correct gives me a PB. (32 seconds improvement)
But my phone and run keeper have went completely insane,
I moved the start point on the map on runkeeper to where i actually started to get my true distance of 5.10 km .
Now Run keeper on my phone app says the first km was 7:10 and the fifth km was a 4:11 ? Surely not ? It cant have been that good.
Run keeper online however says 10:25 for the first km and 8:44 for the fifth km ??? Again surely not to this as my first km was great speed. It defiantly was the fastest.
Going to try taking the wifi with me on my next run to see If the gps signal is any better on that. Bloomin technology ! but anyway, very pleased I've managed to get past this mental block I've had.
Happy running to everyone.
