Well tonight was my big run.....w5r3 and that dreaded 20 minute run. I'm having a pretty stressful time atm and tbh needed the run to distract me. But as I set out I just knew I didn't feel right. I instantly felt tired and sluggish, the complete opposite of my last run! Anyway, I continued and tried my hardest to listen to Laura's advice and take it slowly. I fought with demons constantly and it really was a mental battle! I'm proud to say that I got to about 16 mins but just had to stop! I then battled with myself for about another 90 seconds and eventually decided to run the rest! It was difficult but I finished it. I was really annoyed at myself that I didn't just keep going and I can't really explain what made me stop.
Thank to everyone on here who gave me words of encouragement. I'm going to take two days off and try the run again on Sunday when I'm more rested.

You did well, both in running 16 mins to start with (double what you've done before) and in making yourself get going again - that's a tough hurdle to jump. So well done for improving your running distance, stamina and bravery, and good luck for your next attempt at 20 mins. You can do it!
Snap! I'm in exactly the same boat- it's as if I can't allow myself to do 20 minutes. Have you had any more insight into what is going on? I'm stumped- I've tried this run more than once and I'm now getting stressed at the thought of it for tomorrow morning. Good luck I really hope we both get over this soon!
