Week 1 Run 1

Did my first podcast today at the Parkrun - Hull (East Park). I am 55yrs old, overweight (BMI over 30) and have not done any other real excercise recently.

The podcast ran out before the end, but just carried on walking and running as well as my body allowed me to.

Really pleased that I made it to the end and did 5K in a time of 46.39 and was position 350 out of 360 runners. Really impressed with the friendliness of everyone at the event and the mix of abilities of everyone, but the support everyone gave to those of us who weren't as fast was really appreciated. I will certainly be there next Saturday and would recommend to anyone.

Very impressed. I still haven't dared to do a parkrun; I will soon I hope. Well done to you for carrying on and completing the 5k.

MY face was like a redcurrant for a couple of hours afterwards. I would recommend it though, all the people there were great, I went with friends today, but I really would feel as comfortable just going on my own x

Well done - the first one can be tough ... but it does get easier.

So impressed..My courage keeps failing me....I'm 56 and v overweight and my pride keeps getting in the way of just doing it!!! Malcy, I've heard that once the first one is done and dusted that it does indeed get easier...Just got to bite that blooming bullet and get over myself I think. Well done Katee..x
