I usually run 3 times a week Monday, Wednesday and Saturday but that allows for a two day rest in between one of my runs. The plan says you should take a days rest in between so if that's all you needed then you could run 4 times in a week. You should do what suits you :)

I usually run 3/4 times a week due to work/home life getting in the way! (this week I ran Sat, Weds and Fri) so as long as you have a days rest in between you should be fine

I've been doing evenings on Tues&Thurs + Sunday morning = 3 runs & unless I have these dedicated times am afraid my sofa would win...

but I might switch next week for week4.. have been thinking of Monday AM - Tuesday PM - Thursday PM - Saturday AM

MatthewW - You can probably do Mon am, Tues pm in the earlier weeks, but you are likely to find that it doesn't work so well in the second half of the programme where the distances increase. A whole day's recovery is probably what your legs will start asking for!

I'd say 3 or 4 times a week, you could run every other day, however if your need the extra days rest then take it, better to rest than get injured.

I have found taking 2 days rest in between runs has suited me once I had increased my running distance (latter end of the programme). I find I have to be in the mood to have a good run so do not run if I am feeling very tired, an extra day or 2 of rest has never put me back in my running ability and I feel the need to be physically and mentally prepared for a run so the run is a good one wih respect to achieving the time and distance I wanted to and also to limit my aches and pains.

Good luck with the programme, it works!

?hank you all for the replies.

Is the 3-4 times a week run, relevant for all the 9 weeks of the Program

or for just the first week ?

For example in Week 9, will we running 5K 3 times a week ?

thanks in advance

P

I'm about to start week 10 and I'm nowhere near 5k yet! Every week you do the same run 3 times apart from weeks 5 & 6 when there are 3 different runs. You don't have to fit them into a week though- if your body needs it, take 2 rest days between runs.

It depends what I'm doing, if I'm doing short runs then I go every other day. If I've done a longer run I have 2 rest days, my feet need it! I'd say as long as you have a rest day, you could go every other day. Your body will soon tell you if that's too often.
