Morning or Evening - is there any difference in what time of day you do the run?

I'm out of the house 07:30 to 19:30 so it would be either extra early morning or mid evening

I prefer to morning run, but because of scheduling, I save most of my runs for evening. I find if I have everything out and ready to go, it helps to get me on out the door. Hubby and I did most of C25K in the dark! ;-) If I sit down, its difficult to get up and moving again. :-) Morning runs set the tone for the rest of my day and I like having it done, so I can plan other evening activities.

I prefer my evening runs. After a day at work, it's a good way to clear the head and I seem to have more energy than in the morning when I do my Sunday runs. I suspect the wine on Saturday night is probably to blame :D

I am an early morning runner, love the feeling of being out there, the roads our quiet and if I am lucky to see the sun coming up and have the rest of the day for other things. :-) Pat

I run early doors. 5am on work days and 7am weekends. Only times I can fit them in between full time job, uni/studying, two kids with loads of extra curricula activities, housework, partner, blah, blah, blah........never run in the evening so can't comment.

I run straight after work at about 5pm and find it great. In the early days I used to run at about 7pm so it was still dark and no-one then could see me!! I have run in the morning but generally find if I do I have hideous runs although that could be in my mind!

I'm generally a morning person so don't want to run then as that's when I do my best work and I don't want to lose the time. I run in the late afternoon or evening to wind down after the day. I also find I can't run at all on an empty stomach but I feel sick if I run immediately after breakfast. A few hours after lunch but before supper seems to be the best time.

I always go out about 5.50am as otherwise I would not fit it in! with a full-time job and a 3yr old I like to get out and back and showered before I wake up my little one and husband.

At the weekends I go about 8/9am and its really busy with traffic and I like to run when quiet (when no-one can see me!!)

Thanks for all your replies everyone. I initially asked as I was wondering if there is any physical difference between running after being laid down asleep versus running after being sat for 13 hours during the day?

By the sounds of it everyone just does their own.

So far have only done one mid morning run at 10am on Sunday - everything else has been mid evening when I get home but before tea.

Although as it's just about daylight at 5am now I am tempted to try a morning run (well if you can class Wk3 as a run) and see if I notice any change in energy levels during the day.
