I was first diagnosed 13 years ago but had no symptons and stayed that way for 6 - 7 years before my breathlessness slowly increased. I was already on meds for hypertension and hypothyroidism but also had a shoulder inflammation, poly myalgia rheumatica, [PMR] which started me on steroids, I managed to wean myself off over a couple of years but within weeks the symptoms re appeared so was put back on low dose of 5 mg which I am slowly reducing now.
I have had a few inhalers but none ever felt as if they were helping and I raised this at a rehab course and was told that I may not feel better for taking it but I would feel worse if I didnt. My last inhaler was Trimbow and this, I think, played havoc with my sleeping, 3-5 nights per week I would get no sleep, I couldn't settle anywhere, physically knackered but mentally alert. ||Have now gone back to Trexeo but too soon to tell yet.
And just to come up to date I have sleep apnoea [mild].

You got that right, age isn't for wimps. Me and my sister had this conversation last week. I saw my nurse not so long ago to try trimbow but it played havoc with my body left, right and center. What got me is she said we are running out of options now!! Saw a new doctor the other day and she said we have plenty of options for you to try, so now see doctor rather than the nurse (understandably). I usually googled options after seeing nurse and there are plenty of options out there and sometimes I think the patient has to take the lead. Good luck on finding something that works for you, I'm on the hunt too 🤣🤣👍
I’m sorry, that must be hard to hear. Trimbow was a nightmare for me but it took me a while for the penny to drop and make the connection. Now back on Trexeo and can’t wait to be rid of Trimbow in my system.
Hi. Yes I too seen my practice nurse once a year , and I don’t like her attitude at all, I prefer to rely on my consultant for advice , When I smoked she went on and on , then I stopped my self , she now says go out for long walks , as if I can hardly manage my home 🏠 , and am out off breath
