Clarithromycin

Hello friends, i have been prescribed clarithromycin and prednisolone for a flare up of copd. I am familiar with prednisolone as have taken it many times. I am just concerned about the antibiotic because 2 years ago i had the same and a little while after i suffered a bout of neuropathy which was very unpleasant. I have always wondered if it was anything to do with clarithromycin?

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Doctors seem to tell you stuff but you still worry.

Research has shown that the fluoroquinolone family of antibiotics can cause neuropathy. Your prescribed antibiotic is a macrolide and I didn't see reports such as you have described.John
