Insomnia and daytime sleepiness

My Copd has been worsening over the past few months and I have just finished Antibiotics as fluid sad seen in the left lower lobe? Infection. I had a follow up xray today and am awaiting the results. The main problem apart from a hoarse voice and dry coughing is dreadful Insomnia and then just wanting to sleep all day. I am normally active but I just don't have any energy. Would it be out of order to ask for night sedation from the Gp?

Hi GWUFFLEY, I can't see any reason not ask your GP, you obviously need help sleeping at the moment. Please let us know how you get on with the GP, keep warm and take care😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx 🌹

Sounds like you just need more time to recover. It can take 2 or 3 months to get back up to par after a flare up/infection.

Also you can sleep during the day - lifestyle permitting.

And it makes sense if your not sleeping at night that you are tired during the day. I personally would not ask for more meds - just give your self more time and if you can then sleep when you feel you need it.
