A new Dr., and better treatment. :) MDVIP program.

You guys might understand what I mean by "better treatment" as it's hard to find a Dr. who will spend more than 5 minutes with you and out the door they go. :(

I have joined what is called the MDVIP here in the states. I will 'never' be rushed, I will get full attention, and this Dr., is brilliant...she is one of the only people to offer genetic testing in the states. :o Wow huh? I am super excited. I will be able to text or call her anytime I need her or need to ask a question. Even if I need to ask her if what I'm eating is okay. Just fabulous stuff!! I met her on Thursday of last week at a 'meet and greet" that I set up. I just love her. She is so nice, easy to talk to, and knowledgeable about Copd.

Yes, it does cost extra per year for this Dr., but I do think it's worth it. At least for me. I love the fact that if I call, I can come in that day if I need to, and that will most likely save me trips to the E.R. It's just an awesome program between Dr. and patient. I could see that she was not just in it for the money at all, and truly loves her profession, and her patients. I saw it in her eyes, and felt it from her also.

I will update you guys about what happens after my first visit.

Stay well my friends,

Phyllis

Oh yes, me too!! I believe that I will. She is so nice, and gets so involved with you as a patient. I love that part. Most Drs. dismiss you so fast. It makes me angry how quickly they leave the exam room. :o

Now I can have the best treatment available for this awful disease. I am looking forward to a Dr. visit now instead of dreading it.

My primary care Dr is like that, takes as much time as you need. When my pulmonologist left the room without answering my questions (for the third time), I went to my PC for the answers I needed, and got them.

Good for you. You know 'some' people are scared to ask questions!! I have never been that way myself. It's my body and I want to know what's up with it. I don't even care if this Dr.sends me to a Pulmonologist. I think she will be just fine with any issue I have.

How much are you paying for the Concierge coverage? About 15 yrs ago one of my docs went that way. He charged $25,000 initial fee and a yearly fee, don't remember what that was. He was one of the first in my area to become a Concierge doc. Now it is a network of docs and the fees are considerable less. Good Luck!!

It's 1,600.00. Not too bad. ☺

I guess being it is a group they have no sign up fee. Again, good luck with your docs.

I'm so glad to hear you found a better doctor and care. You'd think they would be more concerned and there for their patients. My appointment is coming up, I'll see how long she is with me. Happy to know phyliss! Good for uou.

It seems getting an appointment relatively soon is out of the question. My new doctor is booked up till September. I'm counting on cancellations this month.
