Hi friends, I haven’t posted in a while but sitting at the hospital and super anxious. CT scan today on a questionable nodule that is 7mm x 8mm. Long smoking history and a FEV of 79% (pretty great considering) but have had right upper lobe tightness and short of breath. No longer smoking and trying to improve my lung strength. Just turned 53 last week. At my last scan dr decided we should wait 6 months to recheck the nodule growth as the surgery risk was higher. Just looking for some positive vibes today and maybe a few prayers. You all are way better than any google search and some the most incredibly strong people. xx
Super Anxious : Hi friends, I haven’t posted in... - COPD Friends
Super Anxious
Good luck and I pray the nodule has not gotten bigger. Please post your results when you get them. It is always tough waiting for test results.
Thanks so much. I got an email from my dr today and it hasn’t grown! He said the radiologist report was good. Annual monitoring now.
That is awesome news. I am waiting for a follow up CT in Sept for the same reason and hope mine have not grown either, so know what you were going through.
I’ll keep you in my prayers. The waiting is hard.
Thank you, and yes it is.
Are nodule common with this disease then
Apparently they are fairly common with or without COPD, but are more common with smokers or exsmokers.
Ok so how would I know as only ever had x-ray never had a scan..the x-ray was to look at blood clots
See your Back Emily !
Never left
Only removed post that offended
Not seen you on the Forum for awhile, so thought you had left, Hope your ok Emily ? xx
I will be thank you
My dr said they are common in those with a smoking history and do often go away. But not always. In the US if you have a 30 year pack a day history they will follow and monitor for lung cancer with an annual CT scan covered by insurance.
Thank you for explaining this
I think they may show up when they get larger but am not sure. Had an x-ray in Feb and nothing was seen and had a CT scan in May for something else when they saw the nodules. They will, do another one in Sept to see if they have gotten bigger, stayed the same or are now gone. Hopefully they have not grown but will have to wait and see.
