I go from one CI to the next, afraid to venture outside in case it starts another. I was admitted to hospital for 3 days 5weeks ago given steroids by IV and antibiotics just finished another course of Doxycycline two weeks ago, attended the GP yesterday but he didn’t give any further medication although my condition remains the same with a chesty cough and phlegm. Do I just persevere?

Never ending chest infection
Hi this is jensmom. I'm sorry your going through this. I've been there a lot myself. I almost didn't pull through last February was taken by ambulance with pneumonia that went septic. And I've been on that roller coaster ride of steroids and antibiotics. I'm not a Dr but I have found that taking the supplement nac, drinking pineapple juice, lots of water and mucinex DM helps a great deal to get that mucus out. But plz talk to your Dr first to make sure you can take the nac. Even when I'm on the meds I still take mucinex DM, its very good. By all means stay out of the cold whenever you can. If you have a nebulizer use that or get one if you don't. I also drink herbal teas. I really hope something here helps you. Plz let me know how your doing ok. Take care and prayers for speedy recovery.
Thanks for your reply sorry to be stupid but what’s nac?
Its a supplement I take to help my breathing. A lot of ppl take it. You can check it online. But remember to ask your Dr. Before taking anything, as per my Dr she said its safe for me and I take A lot of meds. You should look into it. Also I take cordyceps. All this you can see online. And there's no such thing as a stupid question, lol. Hope it works out for you to
Yes, they would rather you could go to the GP not the hospital, l have been admitted 4 or 5 times in the last year. Get used to it, we all reeadt different to the disease
Will google it, thank you so much,
If your sputum is yellow, brown or green take a sputum sample and make an appointment to see your Gp.
perhaps consider alternative medicine (Chinese herbal?) that may also deal with viruses as well as bacteria. Also research on silver colloids indicates this deals with pathogens very effectively.
Have a friend who got pneumonia all the time.. alot.... now on 1 a day antibiotic and hasnt had it back since she went on it. Ask your doc about it.
I was also suffering from chronic pneumonia, hospitalizations. PLEASE look into medicinal mushrooms, super anti inflammatory, your immune system needs a boost. Much well documented info out there on the benefits , reishi, chaga, coryceps, turkey tail. NAC helpful in breaking up congestion. I was catching every bug my kids brought home. Haven't had cold in two years. Totally non toxic, only as most heathful things has some blood thinning action, if you are on meds for this. PLEASE, look into this!
