Feel like giving up
Hi Sarah, so sorry to hear what you're going through. I have congestion too & what helps me is a generic form of musinex, plus drinking a lot of water. I hope you give that a try & that it works for you. More important is how you're feeling about yourself. Glad you reached out on this site. Take time to read past posts. You'll find support, advice & encouragement. I'm praying for you, that God give you peace & comfort like only He can. He loves you & has a plan for you, for hope & a future. Your children need you. Terri
Hi sarah there’s lots of help out there you must seek it have you been diagnosed with anything xxx
Hi Sarah. I'm sorry to hear you are feeling so low. Please go and see your doctor for some medication to ease your symptoms and tell him/her how you are feeling emotionally. It is tough being ill when you have young children but there is plenty of help and support out there - please ask for it.
All I can do is echo what's already been said. Try mucinex (name brand or generic). Drink water throughout the day (I have a large refillable water bottle with me at all times). Talk to your doctor about the morning congestion, and about how you feel. It may help if you could sleep inclined. If you can, maybe get an adjustable frame for your bed. You could also try lifting the head of your bed with blocks of wood, or a brick on each side. Maybe sleep on 2 pillows, or get in incline bed pillow?
Talk to your doctor, see what he suggests. Your children need you.
You could try Active Cycle of Breathing Technique, (lots of information on the internet) which is a form of physiotherapy (also known as huffing), to help to cough up the mucus. It takes about 20 minutes but well worth doing. You could perhaps try it after the children have gone to bed. Also you could ask your doctor to prescribe you a Flutter device or Acapella device which helps to loosen the mucus.
Can fully understand where your coming from. If not for God I would not be here. Dont ever think your children will be better off with out you. You are speciel in their eyes and heat. I've had to adjust to so many things. Must walk slower take longer breaks and ask for help. Getting much better at asking for help. I use a device called Accayplla. You bl ow into it it fluttets and helps break up the junk in the lungs. And when I cough I try to bring up some of that junk. Also cut down the salt intake as much as possible.
Keep on fighting girl your children need you. Having COPD like we do is rough on everyone.yet its much better than the alternative
