Oramorph

Have just started using oramorph twice a day to help with my breathing but for the first time in my life I am now suffering with severe constipation having only eaten salads for the last 2 days still blocked up. Any advice greatly appreciated. Patsy x

Hi, sorry you're being affected like this. I have no idea about this med; never even heard of it. I'd probably google it to see that the side effects are or better yet, call the doctor's office. I hope you get some relief soon. Be praying for you. Terri

I agree with joyful4u, maybe google oramorph to learn of its side effects, and talk to your doctor. See if he/she can recommend something to help get things moving.

I have been dealing with constipation for years. I take benefiber once or twice a day and when constipation lasts more than a few days, I take miralax, the only stuff that doesn't give me abdominal pain.

Talk to your doctor first, but maybe try a fiber supplement (there are many choices out there). There are also many options for constipation as well.

I'm pretty sure oramorph is an opioid-based medicine, and all opioids are notorious for causing constipation, even after only a couple of days. Your doc could surely give you something to help because he will know this.
