HelloIn past couple days ago, i have a minor diarreah and poops normally ( normal brown color ) but last night, i went to thr bathroom and there's blood in stools and clots, ans slightly burns ( i ate spicy foods ). I panicked and cried. This is my second time it happened. I remember last year, on september. I ate extremely spicy and drank alocohol ( yes, it's very bad and dumb. ) there's alot of blood and massive clots...and then everything went normal in few days later, till now. I am going to make a appointment and see what they say about it.

Has anyone experience this before? How much for colonscopy exam cost.

Note: i am 29 years old female and adopted. I don't know who's my birth family

hi , you’re doing exactly the right thing going to dr. Could be lots of things including over-sensitivity to spicy food over time.

Worth paying for colonoscopy, this is the best way to see exactly what’s going on and the quickest way too then you and your drs can start addressing it.

Good luck

Hi Jesusismysavior,

Thank you for posting on Colon Cancer Connected. First off, I think you're in good hands getting advice just given your screen name here🙏❤️. I mean it definitely looks like there's a pattern of spicy foods leading to concerning poops. Personally, I do a lot of cycling on my bike and I need a lot of hydration. Sometimes I could be riding my bike for six straight hours. I changed my hydration from lemon/lime to a tropical fruit flavor which was red. I drank a lot of it. It did turn my stools red a couple of times. But when I would stop using it, I would return to normal. I wasn't that concerned about it as I knew I would be getting a colonoscopy anyway. As a part of my surveillance for caner, I get an annual colonoscopy. I was stage 4 colon cancer and now I'm NED (No Evidence of Disease). They have to keep a close eye on me.

Getting it checked out by the doctor is not a bad thing. You will probably be given a FIT test which would measure if there is blood in the stool. I would stay away from the spicy as that is something you can control. I would recommend staying off the spicy and then getting a FIT test you see if there is blood in the stool without the spicy being an issue. I would definitely discuss this whole plan with your doctor. I'm not a doctor. If the doctor thinks a colonoscopy would give you the answers you're looking for then I would definitely do that. Also, asking the doctor or somebody at the facility as to the cost of a colonoscopy is some information they should be willing to share. If you can get on some kind of healthcare plan, that would be best. These days, there's a lot more transparency in the costs for medical procedures. Wherever you live, it shouldn't be too difficult to find out that cost.

Also, you're 29 years old. You are young. But you should never accept a diagnosis based on your age. A diagnosis should always be about the symptoms present. Don't let the doctor come to a conclusion that you don't need a colonoscopy because you're too young for it. You need to go in there with your list of symptoms and your history of what's been going on. That's what the basis for discussion should be about. The diagnosis and care plan should be all about the facts and concerns surrounding the symptoms.

I do wish you the very best in finding out what's going on. I hope it is completely non sinister and that your diagnosis is to back off of the spiciness of your foods🤔🔥. That could be a tough thing to do. I know some people that love their spicy and they do partake. I've seen some people cry while they're trying to eat a meal. People do like their spicy. But I hope you do find the answers to what you're looking for. And please let us know how this works out. It is that type of information that can be helpful to others on this site.👍

Thank you,
