Hi,I have been reading along for a few weeks now. I am terrified I could have colon cancer. Last month I started passing mucus and blood in my stool. I went to a GI doctor who ordered a colonoscopy but had to cancel it as my stool sample came back positive for c diff. Now I don't have the typical c diff symptoms and the doctors don't think the blood and mucus are related to the c diff. I did take antibiotics and the symptoms stayed the same. I attached a photo to see if anyone had experienced similar bowel movements and what their diagnosis was. I am terrified as I won't see doctor again until next month and hopefully reschedule the colonoscopy.

Hi Fvgrl,
Thank you for posting in Colon Cancer Connected. I find that strange that the colonoscopy was put off if they didn't attribute the stool symptoms to c diff. Maybe because the colon could be swollen due to c diff. That could be it.
With the blood as a symptom, you should definitely get a colonoscopy. It looks like that will happen and I wish it were sooner so you'll have some answers sooner and won't have to speculate about it. You didn't mention anything about abdominal pain. That's good.
Also remember, there can be all sorts of reasons for blood in the stool. The colonoscopy is the way to go. It sounds like your doctors know this as well. You need answers. I think you are doing great in getting things done. I wish the colonoscopy were sooner rather than later so you won't have to speculate. 🤟👍🧡
I wish you all the best. Please keep us informed as this can be helpful to others.

Yeah I didn't question it much at first but when I had a follow up she said in case the c diff infection is still there, it would be dangerous to get a colonoscopy since it's so contagious. But both the GI doctor and my primary care have said they don't think the blood and mucus is related to c diff. My primary care doctor has recently done a whole bunch of tests on me so those will be coming in this week and she is telling me I need to contact my GI doctor and push that colonoscopy sooner rather than later. I'm just nervous and scared at this point that if my symptoms aren't c diff, I could have colon cancer. I have not had diarrhea just loose stools with blood and mucus and no fever or stomach pain.
Hey, same thing is happening to me, any update?
Hi, I have completed endoscopy and colonoscopy. I do not have bowel cancer. I have an ulcer in the bottom part of my esophagus which might be related to the h.. pylori infection they found. I also have either IBD or Crohns Disease. The blood in the stool is gone now after taking prilosec. I still have many other medications and antibiotics and tests i have to take but no cancer!!+
How you feeling now? Are you still having blood in stool?
