I have been on this group for almost two years posting about the blood I saw on my stool, it was always minimal but at times very dark, I even posted pics 🤢. I had symptoms before I became pregnant, I then had a colonoscopy 8 months after I gave birth, they kept delaying it because I’m only 31. Well behold during the colonoscopy there was a large ugly looking polyp which they wrote on my report and suspected cancer. I went for a mri and a ct scan and than a ultrasound scan having a closer look at the polyp. I then had a ESD procedure to take out the chunk of polyp and some clear margins. This procedure avoids bowel resection. After a tortures two years and even more tortures two months with investigations I will like to thank god for giving me clear results today. They said there was cell changes and most likely pre cancerous cells but not cancer. If I had left it for longer though it would have most likely changed to cancer. Early diagnosis is everything! Please get checked if you have symptoms. I actually have really bad hemorrhoids so I honestly thought blood was from there.
What a journey! : I have been on this... - Colon Cancer Conn...
What a journey!
Oh I've been looking for your results for so long. I read all of your posts and I want to congratulate you. This is amazing. Now I'm going through the same thing. I have on/off rectal bleeding, it happens really occasionally but once I noticed blood clot, so it drives me crazy. I'm 17 and this is hell. I hope there is not something bad going on in my bowel.
I decided to hibernate when they kept delaying for the colonoscopy, I was waiting for it for two years!!!
Btw you are only 17 and as much as I don’t care how young someone is and they can have cancer your chance of it being cancer are almost nil. Even at my age I’m a rare case to even have this sort of ugly polyp. Consultants were very surprised.
so happy to hear this!!!
Very happy to hear that Jazzy1990
Very happy for you, great news thank god
Very happy for you.. I was pretty much on the same boat waiting and waiting.. It was lucky not too late and it's pre-cancerous.. I am 35, the specialist said the outcome could be very different if it was waited for another year or even couple months. He also said cancer is more common now for younger people than in the past..
Wow, congratulations and happy for you , grateful for everything
Hi, I’ve read your posts and it was truly a roller coaster ride for you. i’m happy it’s nothing sinister for you, I just want to ask since my mom will have a schedule probably next month for a CT Scan, did your polyps was shown in the scan? The Dr was not worried that it’s something sinister for her, but she had symptoms before and it’s worrying me. that’s why dr told her to get a ct instead of colonoscopy.
