Scared it's the big C

47 year old male. Sudden onset of very loose stools 28 days ago. First week also had severe adnomial cramps - ended up on rehydration drip in hospital on day 6.

Stomach cramps have now gone to be replaced with a dull pain.

Still have loose stools but can go many hours between toilet breaks. Having more frequent than usual needs to pee. Stomach gurling, farting (very smelly) and burping a lot more and having to wear socks in bed as my feet are freezing.

On a plain diet, digestive biscuits, plain chicken, pasta (no sauce), etc. Taking 2 actimel drinks daily. Also taking rehydration sachet after each bout.

Doctor has prescribed 20mg omprezole and a vitiman c tablet (both once a day).

Went back to work for three days last week (wed to Fri) - desk based job and then today (Sat) had a day of feeling poorly again and spent most of the afternoon asleep in bed!

Doctor has now referred me to specialist and I have an appointment next Wednesday.

Now getting scared it is going to be the big C

You could have a mild infection that is causing your symptoms. Rest assured there are many things this could be other than cancer.

Chin up fella. Don’t worry too much as that can also cause symptoms!

That sounded like me, I have IBS and angina and have to have socks on in bed due to my feet getting very cold even in the middle of summer. My symptoms have been so much worse since my second covid jab tho

Has your GP done a stool sample and bloods? Please try not to worry, sounds easy to say but the speculation makes you feel worse. Could be covid that can cause diorreah or even ibs. Either way it's best it's investigated and dealt with. Please let us know how you get on All the best
