Got took to hospital on Fri evening with severy stomach pain and back pain, they done a ct scan (on waiting list from bowel place at hospital for one) anyways it showed IBD and arthritis in my spine and hips also my biopsies came back showing inflammation probs from hips n spine. I now need further tests for bowels to find were the blood has been coming from and referred to rheumatology. Over all its very positive that I haven't got the dreded C word. 😀

Ooh you mean there’s inflammation in your joints too and that could sum up to IBD as well?

Yup in spine and hips bialatiral chronic sacroiliitis and he said that could be reason the biopsy turned out to show inflammation as it can cause incontinence.

Hello Macjayne ,Thank you for keeping us updated. I'm so sorry to read that you had to go to the hospital due to severe pain - but I am glad that it sounds like you will be getting all the tests done that are needed to determine what is going on.

In addition to the rheumatologist, have you been assigned a gastroenterologist? When you have several doctors looking at various parts of the body/potential diseases, it becomes even more important to be an active member of your medical care team and ensure that the various doctors are consulting with each other and sharing tests results.

It is always a good idea to ask the questions to ensure that they are all aware of the test results and upcoming tests or procedures that the other doctor has ordered.

Please keep us posted when you can - we're here for you... and hope that you get relief from your pain and answers as well.
