So scared...

I had a routine colonoscopy 2 weeks ago and 10days after I received a letter to see my surgeon. I knew the result must be bad, but not this bad!

My cancer is back, sited in the opening of my colostomy, my surgeon says I need the remainder of my large bowel removing and also my rectum! I am not worried about having the ileostomy but I have gained so much weight since my first diagnosis of colon cancer due to the effects of the chemo and other things like gabapentin and MH meds. I am now considered high risk. I had emergency surgery with my colostomy so I probably have lots of adhesions. I am so scared my kids are still young 14 & 15, the youngest is still scarred from my first episode. I am so frightened that I won't make it through the operation, and what will happen to them and my husband.

I have a CT tomorrow and then an appointment with the anaesthetist a couple of days later with my surgery scheduled for the 14th.

Has anyone else had anything similar?
