I was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2010. After surgery and chemo I was lucky to have five years of relatively normal living but unfortunately the cancer returned in 2015. It has spread to my lymphatic system but after a few unsuccessful attempts to control the disease I am now on oral chemo and avastin which has stabilised the situation - at present!!! I have my moments of despair (who doesn't?) but am so grateful to the oncologists and nurses who look after me. I live in the South of France and have been very fortunate to have had such good treatment. Is there anyone else in this area with the same cancer who would like to share their story and compare notes?
Wishing everyone with this horrible disease the best of luck.

I love reading stories like yours!!! It just goes to prove cancer does NOT have to be a death sentence. I myself suffered breast cancer in 2010, bowel cancer in February 2017 after which had to have a stoma bag fitted and still do and am now receiving chemo (pemetrexed and carboplatin) administered directly into the blood stream for lung cancer. Fortunately (for the want of a better word) none of these cancers were related and were three different types. I am a 61 year old woman and live in Glasgow, Scotland and although I also have underlying non-cancerous health problems I too am still here fighting the good fight. I won't say it has been easy anything but I take the view that at the end of the day you just have to get on with it and not curl up into a ball and give up. I do hope your own situation continues to improve and long may it last!!!!
I am so sorry to hear about all your ongoing cancer issues. It is hard to stay positive but I guess we have to try! Your courage is an inspiration to me and although this club is not one I wanted to join it is comforting to know others keep on going, despite all the fears and anxiety.
