Flugel1 departs at 85years - departure of a jazz legend

Here to report that Stephen Goldberg, playwright and jazz musician ('a Burlington area jazz giant'), flugel1 , passed away July 2024 at age 85.His last post:

He talked about his jazz musicianship, his late wife, etc

I have no details, but infer that he never received, nor required, CLL treatment - a life well-lived.

He interacted on here, briefly, during 2018, expressing little wish at age 79 to be involved with treatment that disrupted his 5 nights per week flugelhorn jazz band playing.. and reflections on being pre-deceased by his beloved musician wife, Rachel Bissex (you can find her music on YouTube)

My reply to this has another image, in fact images over 30 years, of him and his band.

Newdawn, I've just read your lovely exchange with his on his last post where he expresses his feelings about his newly diagnosed CLL and missing his wife. I'm sure you were helpful to him and helped his perspective.
