I have 17p deletion. Been on Ibrutinib since February 2019 and I am doing well! My numbers are all great and well within the “normal” range. I am scheduled for hip replacement in October. I had my other hip replaced before being diagnosed with CLL and did great! My oncologist has cleared me for the surgery but I am Just a little more concerned about recovery with CLL. I will be coming off Ibrutinib for about 2 weeks. I would love to hear from any of you who have had similar surgeries while having CLL. Thanks!

hi, I have had 2 hip replacements, one prior to treatment and one last year after 18 months taking Alcalabrutinib. Recovery in the second hip op was noticeably quicker and I had far more energy due to my CLL being treated. Ensure you are in the best possible condition with healthy eating, exercise and up to date with vaccines. Good luck
Hi, i had a hip replacement 3 weeks ago am doing well...only caveat is surgeon said I should wait 3-4 months before getting covid vaccine. I would have gotten the vaccine 3-4 weeks before surgery if I had known.
