I just started my treatment about a week and a half ago. So far doing great. Very minor diarrhea one day and several minor headaches. My question is about drug storage. If you go to calquence dot com it says to store at 66 to 77 degrees f. What do you do if you go on a multiple day trip and everything is fine while driving in air conditioned car but if you stop to go to an outside activity such as a flea market and its 90 degrees out then you certainly cant leave in car where temp will get over 100 and you cant take with you in 90 plus outside temp. In a cooler with ice pack temp would be way below the 66 degree lower reccomendation storage temperature.

If you read on, the Calquence site cllsupport.calquence.com/hc... says, with my emphasis; "If your CALQUENCE is left outside for an extended period of time, you can contact the AstraZeneca Information Center by phone at 1-800-236-9933, (Monday - Friday 8 AM - 6 PM ET, excluding holidays)."
My take on that, is that if you keep just sufficient with you in a well insulated container in the car, preferably in the trunk/boot, (you could put them in a clearly labelled thermos for example), then you shouldn't have any concerns about your Calquence being degraded. I'd suggest that you call AstraZeneca to confirm my suggestion, however and let us know what they recommend. It's a good question!

Thanks, i have first follow up appointment with my doctor in a little more than a week. Was going to ask him what he thought but was also curious as to how others were handling this situation
I called Astrazeneca and was told that excursion temperature range is 56 to 86. I asked how long is considered an excursion. I mean a couple hours or possibly days. They said they didnt know how long an excursion could be. I asked if the medication got out of the temperature range did it merely degrade the effectiveness, completely ruin it or possibly even make it toxic. They said they didnt have that information. Surprised how little information i got from the manufacturer. I see my specialist next week. I will ask him and possibly check with the pharmacist. I like to go on at least one camping trip in the winter when the temp is usually cold the whole time and my wife and i like to take driving trips in summer when its real hot around here. I am hoping storing this medication isnt a prohibitive problem
You can buy very small insulated pouches... on temu or amazon that you could carry with you. Not sure if that is helpful...but something maybe to check out.
That is something i thought about although the thermos might even work better. Just not sure how either would work if med had to stay in a car for perhaps several hours when summertime heat in car would easily get 110 plus. Or you could carry on you with temps in the 90s. Almost looks like you would have to be checked into a hotel to have a climate controlled storage while doing outdoor activities while traveling. The bummer is that if we travel we generally only stay in a hotel one night and then move. Since we usually leave early in morning and check in is in the evening the issue is keeping the med right temp middle of day. Not a major issue since we only take one driving trip a year, but can forsee problems if this med is truly sensitive to a 11 degree range reccomendation for storage. Would like to believe true range is larger but maybe astra zenica is conservatively cautious. May try to call them this week.
just keep in handbag or at home I have been taking 2 years and am now in remission so it works. only problem bruising all over my body a small price to pay
