Two weeks ago I started experiencing symptoms of Graft VS Host Disease. These were sores in the mouth and then a rash starting on my chest, progressed to face back sides and lastly legs. It was nasty, crazy itchy! Prescribed steroid cream and prednisone took care of the majority of it in a week. The prednisone has been progressively reduced and will be completed this week. All of the symptoms appear to be resolved as of yesterday. I was also given a medicated rinse for my mouth.
Feeling much better I was hoping for some increased freedom. I was reminded by my team I am in a very vulnerable condition. I still have to exercise extreme caution.
It is easy to forget what I have been through and want to resume a “normal” life. When reflecting objectively, my life is totally different and may never be the same. Yet I am alive with increased possibility for many renewed life opportunities in the future.
Day +100 is the next benchmark. They will do another Bone Marrow Biopsy/draw at that time to assess my progress.

Good to hear your update FiArt. Side effects sound miserable ☹️ This procedure offers so much hope but is no ‘walk in the park’ but you seem to have approached it with the right mental attitude.
Looking forward to all your future possibilities and please keep us updated.
