I originally asked if anyone had the same issue as me. You answered your count also started to climb on the tablets. Well, I went back to the capsules one week ago today and had my count taken and it dropped instead of climbing as it did on the tablets for 5 mths. These capsules are not the same that we first received wiith Imbruvica. However, they are bigger than the tablet and I believe these also look like they are made in China. My drop was not huge as they were on the old capsule but they did go down a small percentage. I am thankful and will see my Dr. tomorrow to see what he advises. God bless......

Marie - Had you already gone through the initial period when the ALC is expected to rise before falling? If not, that could explain the rise. I will be interested in your doctor's input.

Yes, I definitely had. I've been on Imbruvica over a year and a half with great success and then the tablets and a downward spiral for 4 mths. My initial time I went up on the count was in my third month, and maybe a few months later I took a small jump. From that time till now I went all the way down too just about a normal count, then started my upward climb till now.

I have no experience with Ibrutinib, but have seen a few other people post that they noticed a difference when switched. Hopefully someone here will have more information.

It does make me very apprehensive that this expensive cancer med is manufactured in China. But like everything else, there seems to be nothing we can do about it, but pay the high price (even with help, somebody is paying!), knowing we are being ripped off while the pharmaceutical company is raking in the $$$$$$$$$$$, and that's what it's really all about.

That's good information. Quick question: How did you go about getting the new medication. Did your doctor request it for you or did you contact the manufacturer.

Your doctor has to write a script to the specialty pharmacy for you to get Ibrutinib or to change from capsule to pill and vice versa.

Okay, thank you so much, I'm going to see my doctor today and I will discuss it with him. Pray for me.

Hi Marie,

On my bottle of capsules from Diplomat pharmacy it says made in China. Can you imagine the money big pharma is making getting them from there, then charging the huge price for them here? Carole

It truly upsets me that they can take the manufacturing of this Imbruvica and let a country who doesn't make anything worth their while or lasts longer than a few years and give them this drug and charge us a fortune! Meanwhile, we are taking something that is not correctly made or something wrong with it, and our lives are in their hands! I hope someone wakes up and cks. this out soon before others are going to think that it isn't working. How much money is enough$ It is so frustrating and wrong!!
