Hi all. Many of you have seen my prior posts about husband's up and down course with CLL. Many times I have protested that he was over treated but this time it may have been worth it. Due to plummeting neutrophil levels after less than 6 months on Venclexta yet normal other blood results, doctor insisted upon bone marrow biopsy, I usually resist but I wanted to let him do it to prove that it was the treatment and not the CLL that was causing this issue. Well today the marrow report and peripheral flow studies are in - conclusive - undetected CLL! Blood work today showed neutrophils absolute at 4.8! At this point will only be observation and bi-monthly blood work. So many of you I am grateful to for your input and knowledge but I hope this encourages others that there are treatments that are working and more on the horizon. This was after only 4 rounds of Obinutuzumab and less than 6 months of Venclexta - many of those months not at full dose. Also interesting to note that this was John's third round of Gazyva with first one back in 2017 when first treated and many doctors thought you need a new drug second time around but for some reason in our case this has been a miracle drug on repeat treatments. I do believe it was the combo of the Venclexta that achieved this result. Now we just have to find out what is happening with this darn new variant of covid! Stay safe all.

V&O Update - After 6 months
Fantastic results, congratulations!
Sounds very good! Thanks for posting.Cx
Thanks for the HAPPY news! 💃💃💃
Great update Palmetto,
There is a lot not yet known with this disease and treatment response, however, perseverance and hope with substance is still a fine motive.
Hats off to you both!
JM
That's wonderful news.
🎉🎉🎉
So good to see your husband is having this success. I am very near beginning my first treatment and the V+O combo has been recommended for me and I am likely to pursue this path.
Wishing him a long lasting remission!
Such a great outcome, esp the turn around in neutrophils. So happy for you both.
Yes they crashed down to 100. Even the Neupogen never got it this high while under treatment.
Great news. Venetoclax is a super drug
Palmetto,That is great news, I’ve read the ups and downs and it’s been quite a journey. I was just told that Obinutuzumab (Gazyva) treatment is able to be extended now to 12 months along with the 12-24 month cycle of Venclexta. So I start my 8th round of both next week to see if I can obtain a deep remission.
Jack
This makes me feel good… I’m starting O and V on 7/18
