The 3rd vaccine injection

Just to let people know I had my 3rd primary AZ vaccine injection this morning, and at the centre they were familiar with this situation.

Judy make sure when anybody goes for their 3rd injection they specify that it is a primary injection vaccine not a booster.

I was told that on the 3rd primary injection it should be exactly the same as the first 2 primary vaccines.I was also to.d that they will contact me for a booster,as well in 6 months time but it will be a phizer as the booster does not have to be the same as these first 3 vaccine.

Please make sure you tell the centre that it is a primary 3rd vaccine injection

Thanks

I am so confused. I was advised that letters are to be sent to my GP from my CLL SPECIALIST advising them to contact me to have a third primary dose and then a booster in 6months time which does give clarity. However you have mentioned that you have had AZ as your 3rd Primary as this is what you had for the 1st and 2nd and then you will have Phizer for the booster.I was not aware that this was the instruction so will have to get that clarified with my Research Trial Care Team before attending.

Many thanks

In Britain the booster does not have to be the same as the primary doseThis is because the booster ,in quantity, is a lot smaller then the primary.

dose. My wife has has the phizer but moderna for her booster.

Hopes this helps but have a word with your GP practise just to confirm.

At the COVID injection centre, they were fully familiar with the 3rd dose being a primary one for the vunerable

Hope this helps

I asked my GP and at the Centre about which vaccine for the 3rd dose and both said it would be pfizer like my first 2 and that pfizer was the intended one for all 3rd doses. Who knows what the professionals are being told. Probably its availability rather than science.
