3rd Doses of COVID vaccines starting for UK NHS Patients

FairweatherSailor profile image

I was pleased to get an invitation for my 3rd booster dose of the COVID vaccine this morning. Now scheduled for this Saturday morning. I had AZ the first time around (which I have been happy about) and think that if the booster is Pfizer that would be a good result. Are others (in UK) getting the booster dose as yet ?

Hi no booster jab yet. Asked GP and haematologist yesterday, both said they are awaiting government advice. Good luck with yours.Ann

I got the invitation by phone yesterday and email this morning. I tried to book an appointment, but they would not book me yet as six months have not passed since my second jab. (23 March). Have to wait another day!!

Good to hear that you have been invited. My second jab was on 6th April and yet I am booked for my 3rd jab on 25th September ! It seems that different GP surgeries are applying the "rules" differently. I think that our surgery does recognise the vulnerability of CLL patients.

It's not my GP that sent the invitation, but the NHS as I am on their extremely vulnerable list. However, my husband got the invitation this morning as well from the NHS, and he is only old, not extremely vulnerable.

I got the text message from the NHS (extremely vulnerable like yourself) but I think that it actually comes from (or is prompted by) the surgery because it's the same text number that I got other things from the surgery (like my flu invitation - which is definitely from my surgery)

I have had an invitation by email from the NHS this morning. It is over six months since I had my second Pfizer dose. I can have the booster tomorrow - there was masses of availability.

No I'm not getting "the booster dose". I'm getting my third primary dose. Tomorrow morning. Pfizer. And I had to fight for it.
