I consider it a miracle drug in May I was doing real bad needed blood transfusion WBC was 278,000 platelets 58 and rbc 2 now after 4 months on Venetoclax my latest blood test wbc 3,82 hgb 15 plt 117 neut2.22 and baso .01 have more energy and all the swelling is gone , I take in conjunction with monthly rituximab shots and I feel better than before I had the disease with no side effects , I just make sure I drink a liter of water every day , my doctor wanted me to go with ibrutinib but I preferred Venetoclax because I heard it had lesser side effects , so I hope this helps others , thanks.

So glad it is working for you! I did Venetoclax and Rituximab for a year. It is my one year cancer free anniversary this week! Prior to treatment, I had nodes so large I was having trouble swallowing and was in constant pain. Fatigue was so bad, I could barely move. I had to force myself to get on the stationary bike for 10 minutes at the lightest resistance and then take the rest of the day to recover! After treatment, I got my mojo back! I play pickleball every day for 2-3 hours, then shovel dirt as I am redoing the landscape in my yard! I have not been sick in over a year!

I am so thankful for this miracle drug combo! It gave me my life back! I hope it does the same for you!!

Hi & thank you for posting. Happy to know this and prayers for continued wellness & good times!

I have been on Venetoclax for 14 months and it is working well - I am in remission. I was on Ibrutinib for a year but the side effects were pretty bad. Hope it continues to work well for you. x

I am going to be starting this regimen only with Obinutuzumab instead of Rituxan. I am so glad to hear the positive results you've had! Thank you for posting --it gives me much hope and I was also glad to hear other's have had good results! Did you have any trouble with the ramp up?

I'm so happy you are doing well with Venetoclax. I have been taking it as a monotherapy for the past 6 months. As the CLL specialist I met with online told me, "After the ramp up, it is smooth sailing." It's ever so much better than Imbruvica was for me. I still find it a miracle that here we have cancer, and are able to take these pills without impeding our daily lives all that much. If only two of my cousins who died much too young from other types of blood cancers were living today.

Hi, so happy its working well for you! Sounds very positive! I 2 are starting on Venetoclax and Obinutuzumab as first line treatment , cant wait looking forward it. Been watch and wait for 6 years now but my spleen is 22cm large so thats why im looking at taking first lot of meds. Decided not to go for FCR although have good markers to take chemo.

Hi Driver my spleen is 23 cm . what symptoms do you have from your enlarged spleen ??? . By noon or mid afternoon especially after i lean forward to eat lunch , i have a sharp/dull pain just below my heart near my stomach that goes around my rib cage finally extending to my back . it comes and goes somewhat .. it is usually gone in the morning when i wake up . sometimes i lay in bed for a while just to be pain free. headed to the oncologist on thursday to find out when i start treatment . james

Hey James, the only way to get it to reduce in size is by starting medication. I don't have any pain with my spleen yet but because of the size of it decided to start meds in December. cheers Stu
