Hi all,
Are people with CLL who take Ibrutinib or other BTK’s creating any Covid antibodies from the vaccines?

Not many that I have seen. Have seen people post antibody production, who are not on treatment.
After reading the NY Times article today on Covid vaccine antibodies in immunocompromised individuals (nytimes.com/2021/04/15/heal... which specifically mentions ibrutinib as a stop to antibody production from the vaccines, I contacted my physician and requested a lab referral for a spike protein antibody test with numbers if possible, but I haven't heard back yet. I'll report the results if I can get a test.
I'm getting my antibody test on the 27th of April. I've been on Ibrutinib for 9 months. I had the Pfizer vaccine (both doses) and waiting one month (thereabouts) after 2nd shot to get antibody test. Will post here once I get results. Don't have very high hopes, but it will be interesting nonetheless. Either way, I most definitely will continue being careful and smart when I'm out and about as I have this past year
I had my test through the LLS and the results were a disappointing <0.40. Initially treated with ibrutinib for 2.5 years and calquence for the last 2 years. I was hoping for a better response, but sadly not in the cards for me.
Hi Kimi,
It is not you. BTK’s and CD20
are not friends of the vaccines. Once the monoclonal antibodies are readily available, the European world should also be ready for the onslaught of vaccinated visitors and those protected with antibodies. That will be something!
Stay safe and thanks for posting!
Looking forward to hearing from others on this topic.

My brother is on Ibrutinib and he did produce antibodies. 🙏
Just got finished with Venteclax and apparently I have 0 antibodies.
