Wondering if anyone is on diuretics and Ibrutinib, lasix, Aldactone, HTCZ, and your thoughts on this. Started diuretic for blood pressure, drinking 80 ounces of water a day, definitely flushing out cells, but not I am staying hydrated

Hi Davidcara,

-

Here is a link to the 17 previous times that diuretics were mentioned in past postings. Perhaps these will provide more usefull information than your posting two weeks ago.

You may want to ask your doctor if the desired effect is only increasing the flow of liquid out of your kidneys or if retaining more water in your body is important.

(My mechanical engineering brain suggests the former -dilution- is the objective not retention).

Thanks Lankiaterguy. Problem is my GP ordered it. I will ask oncologist next week at my appointment. Think I will call oncology pharmacist now.

I did have edema in my legs and feet. They took me off HTZC because of low serum sodium. My doctor put me on additional BP med telling me it would swell my ankles. and offered me Lasix. I declined.

It isn't so bad on Alacabrutinib. I eat a bannana and some yam. Drink lots of water. Try and stick to a low sodium diet getting more exercise. That seems to work most of the time.
