NEED YOUR ADVICE...

Trying to find out if taking florisimide ( generic Lasix ) is good or bad for ckd stage 5. Also...if you are on dialysis or had to choose the best way to do dialysis, which one would you choose and why? THANK YOU ever so much.

We tried to use Lasix (furosemid) to take care of the water retention ( or Edema i think it is called ) but not much sucess in that regards. His shugar level is also lower this past 1 month and he is no diabetic. It is around 3.9 mmol/L.

Swelling Legs and foot? Again?

I am back on Elliquis, Lasix and Entresto and feeling good. I was so happy not to have the red swelling legs and feet. Suddenly, yesterday, I could feel my left leg itch, swelling in the foot, and redness. 2 weeks of no symptoms, then here we go again.

SPIRONOLACTASE ??

Hi -- I know that several of you have said you're on this medication because Lasix was not strong enough to reduce the fluid in your legs. My legs were so swollen up they developed water blisters which broke and it is such a mess.

Spironolactone Side Effects

Several of you mentioned better results with Spironolactone than you had with Lasix. I plan to talk to my Dr about it. But can those of you using Spironolactone please let me know about any side effects or problems you encountered with it? Thanks!

I feel nothing is being done, (Take Eliquis, Lasix, and Entresto) Go in for check ups every three months. How can a doctor stay on top of your condition just every three months? Some of you may have read my post about I have no faith in doctors anymore.

Swollen legs and feet

My feet and legs are swollen, just started on Lasix a week ago and they are getting better. My question is for others who suffer from this. Does it hurt? My shin is hurting, also ankles and the part of foot that is between toes and top of foot.

I consider myself lucky

Put me on Lasix. But my kidneys started drying out. On bumex 2 mg, I lost that 100 pounds in about 8 weeks. Now 21/2 years my GP and Cardio Dr. both tell me after 9 ECG and seeing one of them every 4 months. I never have had or can they find. My A Fib. Seems all that fluid caused a lot of problems.

Struggling to understand all this.

My doctor has me on a variety of meds that includes-BP, Chol, Lasix,Farxiga,Eliquis, Cytoxan and Prednisone-plus a few more. Always tired. My current EGFR-49, my creatinine level is-1.47, and my urine/protein-14.34. I am suppose to start Rituximab Infusion as soon as I call.

Should we get immune globulin for Covid pneumonia lingering on Day 75

Lasix given once and worked well. Heart beat and EKG normal We decided to check in with an oncologist while at the community hospital (regular doctor at MD Anderson in another state). The IgG is 600 out of 1000 and the IgM is 30 out of 100. IgA is normal.

Eye laser surgery with antocoagulants

Hello everyone! Does anyone know if I cen get eye laser surgery if I take anticoagulants? I mean the surgery to correct myopia, like Lasik or Lasek. I have waited a lot of years to save money for it, and finally I have booked an appointment for a first consultation on May. But yesterday I did a cardioversion

Fluid retention / edema

The fluid retention isn't causing any discomfort and is only unsightly, so I'm wondering how much I should advocate for lasix when I next meet with my nephrologist. Thanks so much.

Soft tissue massage and relief, relief, relief!!!

I called my primary care and his nurse wrote back that he was calling the pharmacy with a script for 6 Lasix pills (20mg each) and I was to take 80mg for two days, then 40 mg for three days and give them a call on Monday. I don't even take Lasix regularly.

Good Results in MRi

They'd had to lower his dose of lasix because he was getting terrible leg cramps during the night. May have to tweak that if he's retaining more fluid. Please keep us in your prayers. Sharon

Kidney pain for months

Had a CT scan and a DTPA Lasix renal scan/renography that did not show anything abnormal, just the eGFR low again at 86 although I was very well hydrated during the Lasix renal scan. Also a cystoscopy, normal as well.

My Jeff home from hospital

With the blood transfusion, drained fluid, Lasix, and continuing to wrap his legs to push the fluid up and out, Jeff should be breathing and maintaining his oxygen levels much easier now.

Small update on my Jeff

Jeff has been given Lasix (a diuretic) to help rid some of the fluid. Also, they will wrap his legs to help push the fluid up and out. Although he struggles with mobility, I have asked for a walker so he can get up and moving and do a lap or two in the hospital halls.
