My husband was due to start venetoclax last week but it was postponed due to a lack of beds in the haematology ward.
He started this morning. Started with a blood test. When the results from that were received they gave him 20mg of venetoclax along with anti-virals, antibiotics, anti gout and anti sickness medications. He was attached to a drip for the whole day and including his oral intake he probably had 5litres of fluid.
His 6pm blood test came back fine. He is staying in hospital overnight and if tomorrow mornings blood test is ok they will give him the next 20mg venetoclax and he can come home with tablets for the following 5 days. He will then go back next week and hopefully increase the dosage (although hopefully no overnight stay).
Four years ago he had FCR and found that very tough. However so far, so good......
Happy to provide updates if it helps others
