Quick recap... diagnosed here in the U.K. December 2016... no issues whatsoever for 1 1/2 years and then last August started to develop unexplained infections roughly every 6-8 weeks since then... have been neutropenic on some of these occasions.. haemoglobin and platelet counts low but stable... wbc has halved in that time from 45 to 25. My specialist has told me that my blood counts are very unusual for CLL and wants to rule out MDS before (hopefully) joining Flair trial. Had bone marrow biopsy last week and will get all results next week. I’d like to hear from anyone with similar ‘strange’ blood counts . Also, could anyone point me towards a simple overview of genetic mutations and what they mean? I want to be prepared as best I can. Thanks.

Hi there,
This article by the CLL Society is a good round up of FISH genetics and their prognostic value. cllsociety.org/2017/09/prog...
It would be unusual for you to have MDS if you have never had treatment and it might be that your CLL is behaving a bit more like SLL where the disease is mainly in the lymph nodes. Hopefully, you're having a CT scan and your immunoglobulins measured too.
Let us know the results
