Imbruvica (ibrutinib) is a very reactive drug... and it may depend on other drugs you are using.
Best this question be addressed to your CLL specialist.
Why are you using CBD? Was it prescribed for you?

My CLL specialists recommended CBD oil to me to help with bone and joint pain and sleep while on ibrutinib with obinutuzumab infusions. I found it very effective.
What type of CBD oil do you use? I’m not familiar at all with any of it and would like to try it for sleep and joint pain.
I tried CBD or marijuana oil to sleep and for loss of appetite. I was in W&W and CBD oil was waste of money for me. It is largely uncontrolled and there are real issues with type, (your question), and also dosage without doctor's advice.
I don't have a preferred brand. I used what I found at trusted grocery stores in Los Angeles. I found it very effective when I needed it the most for pain and sleep, but I don't need or use it anymore. It was recommended by my GP, my oncologist, and my CLL specialists.
Considering CBDMD because my wife used some of the 1500 MG for pain relief and got almost immediate results.
Yes, I've used CBD with THC, it's a cream and I've used it on my neck and on the sides of my face and it does work for me. Especially at night when I can't sleep. Plus I take a tylenol extra strength and together it works. You might want to try it for yourself bkz any relief is better than no relief at all.
I've also taken CBD oil internally but haven't noticed any difference, so I discontinued taking it for a while because it's pretty expensive. Not to say that it doesn't work, but maybe I didn't take it long enough to see results. All that I can tell you is that if you're hurting bad enough, you'll try anything to get some relief. We're all in this fight together and by communicating maybe someone's information can help another person.
Thanks for your info, and stay strong. 🙏💖
What is CBD oil?
CBC Oil is made from marijuana plants (without any mind altering features) and used for pain relief, sleep and several other medical issues with good results for some people.
Thanks. That must be the new product being given to children that have uncontrollable seizures?
No, not the same thing. Medical cannabis usually contains equal measure of CBD and THC. It’s the latter which has the psycho-active element associated with getting people high. However, medical cannabis isn’t intended for this purpose and doesn’t usually have this effect.
CBD oil can be freely bought as it doesn’t contain the THC (the psycho-active element). Personally I didn’t find CBD oil of any use at all.
This explains what medical cannabis is;

I have been on high HTC oil for quite a while with Imbrutinib not a worry in the world. Without it I could not sleep. Lots of value in this combination.
I stopped taking CDB oil when I started Ibrutinib. I was not willing to risk interfering with the treatment.

I am on both ibrutinib (five years+) and CBD and sometimes THC oils. The oils are for joint, bone & muscle pain as well as fatigue and as a result, I use a bare minimum of oxycodone.
Let us know how that goes. My knees need something!
Hi so how is the cbd oil going for joint pain, does anyone have an update. ? I’m interested that some of your specialists support you in its use. I’ve got some and ready to gulp it down for a good nights sleep. Haha just kidding I’ll stick to the dose just want to check out experiences
There's 2 kinds of CBD oil: made from hemp, and made from marijuana. That made from hemp can be bought OTC & online, but generally contains less CBD than that made from marijuana. Hemp just doesn't have the higher concentration of CBD that marijuana does. And since CBD oil is unregulated, the amount of active ingredient can vary. The best companies do quality testing on their batches & supply this information. Of course, these brands will cost more.
CBD is a potent inhibitor of the liver enzymes used to metabolize ibrutinib, the cytochrome P450 ones, often abbreviated CYP450. Adding a reputable CBD source should ideally be done under your doc's supervision for potential increased ibrutinib effect, and used regularly so you don't get fluctuating ibrutinib levels. Whether "regularly" is daily, multiple times a day, several times a week, isn't as important as being consistent with whatever schedule you want to use it.
Using a medical marijuana, more expensive but Quality Tested CBD oil to my ibrutinib treatment was the strategy I used to lower the number of capsules I took but still maintain therapeutic benefits. We were hoping to decrease side effects. There is a brand I use that works wonderfully for my pain, but I am not on it right now because I am in the middle of Venclexta ramp up with high risk for TLS (WBC counts were well over 25,000 and internal lymph node >5 cm. My experience underscores the desirability of a CT scan pre-TLS potential treatment; my external lymph nodes made it appear I was only Medium Risk. The CT scan verified I was High Risk, and needed hospitalization for Tx initiation. I could have severely damaged my kidneys if I wasn't in hospital for IV fluids, I wouldn't have been able to maintain that hydration level drinking oral fluids alone. As it was, the day after my BUN & PO4 rose significantly I drank 6 liters on top of the IV fluids). After I am stabilized somewhat on Venclexta, I will add the CBD oil back & see what, if anything, happens. I went off it pre-treatment because I didn't want anything on board that could increase my blood levels of a new Tx. If CBD helps significantly compared to other potentially more toxic drugs, it could be maintained when starting a treatment with lower risk for TLS, IMO. But if you are considering starting it, please find a reputable source that tests. It really does work wonders for at least some people.
I perfectly understand that the origins of CBD oil stand in the cannabis' form, but it is not necessarily bad for our body, but thi statement works until you take care about the concentration, the scope of usage, and the frequency, that is why it is very important to be cautious and try to combine the CBD and overall well being, but in such a way, that the wellbeing would be connected with other products than CBD oil, to make the connection of "happiness" with something else, and our body would be looking for cannabis only when it is related to a health issue, rather than a "funny" one.
