New 'Posts' Page layout appearing soon

HealthUnlocked have advised of an upcoming change of the Posts tab per the above image incorporating visual and functional changes to the site.

Here's a copy of the message from HealthUnlocked:

Dear all,

We hope you are having a really nice start of the year.

Today, we want to share with all of you some exciting news! You will soon be able to see on your communities an updated layout of the posts tab, which also includes bigger changes “behind-the-scenes” (technical side) that will hopefully make your experience of the page even better.

The new layout better highlights how you can filter posts by latest, unanswered, popular, pinned by admins and recently active (those posts with the most recent contributions whether it is a new reply or the post itself has been just created).

You will also have at your right hand side the option to search posts on your community *** and see the archive section, which groups all posts submitted to the community by year and month.

*** Note that the Health Unlocked Search function to the left of the avartar currently doesn't return locked posts, but the Post page search does!

Yes, the search from this new post page returns matching locked and unlocked posts!

Thanks to cllady01 for reporting this.

Great, hoping more complexity will simplify usage, while remaining Android phone friendly.

Don’t know what I would do without this site!!

Is there a reason "search" does not work for "locked" posts? I hope that is a temporary situation.

We can work around it to a degree if we know the name of the poster, but "locked" posts being unsearchable, is a limiting factor for our being able to support if we have only a word from a subject that we know had some valuable information.

I hope not being able to search locked posts is a temporary situation too, because you can already search unlocked posts via Google, etc. The coding for Implementing a locked post search is a bit more difficult, because each search has to check the community membership of the searcher and only return results from followed communities in order to protect the privacy of those posting locked posts elsewhere.

I'll advise when I get an update from HU Support.

Neil, I have used the "search" that in the line home, posts, search today and got locked posts. That "search" is much faster than the one up by the avatar, and it worked today--I think it must only search CLL posts--that is all that came up.

Good find! We can now search in locked and unlocked posts via the new Posts page. I'll update my post.

Thanks!

Learn to ski Scott. I’m heading to Sunday River shortly to take advantage of all that expected Maine powder. I’d rather be playing golf but it’s not an option this weekend.

Have you found a CLL Specialist yet?

Scott, perhaps the changes you have to continually adjust to in IT reduce your ability to appreciate it elsewhere?

The best part of this HU change (to me) is that we can finally find locked posts that provided excellent answers to new member's questions.

Even summer is a time of change, with high temperature records falling as some places here approach 50C/122F:

I've got a sloping back lawn - send me some of your excess snow and we can open a ski run - well for all of 10 seconds until the snow melts :)

Skiing isn’t my favorite activity these days but my young boys love it so I go with the flow. We are staying slopeside with some friends who have a condo so it should be really nice especially with two feet of snow on the way.

I’m glad you are seeing a new hematologist and you will be looking for a CLL specialist. Having someone you trust makes all the difference. Good luck and be well.

Oh Scott, I'm so envious of all your snow. I live in Minnesota and we are SUPPOSED to get snow...we have none...wish you could share!
