I had it recently and had no effects whatsoever but I am aware of others who have felt quite poorly afterwards.

Essential to have it though so good luck.

I didn't even remember which arm they injected. Definitely no side effects for me. Good luck.

Had the shot with minor issues. I was tired, my nodes enlarged but then went down, and minor soreness at the injection site. Pretty much it.

When I had the Prevnar13 I had quite a sore arm for a few days, with some minor swelling and redness at the injection area. I was assured that this reaction can sometimes happen as everyone is different. I was very glad to get this vaccine. Good luck.

I had the Prevnar13 shot several years ago. i had only very minor side effects - a slightly sore arm and for a few days felt like I might be coming down with flu (but never did).

I had a Pneumovax23 shot eight weeks after the Prevnar13, but not all doctors think it's worth giving Pneumovax as CLL patients don't usually get much response to it. Some do though, so I think we might as well have it.

As far as I know, Prevnar is a one-off vaccination and followup boosters are not given. Pneumovax is sometimes given every 5 years though, especially for people aged under 65. Sometimes doctors do blood tests to see if we need boosters or not.

Best of luck for Monday. As you've only just got over pneumonia recently, then you'll be very aware of how we need all the protection we can get, from these vaccinations.

P.S. About a year after I'd had my two pneumonia shots, I was very ill and doctors were afraid I might get pneumonia. But I never did! Later they did blood tests that showed I'd got very good antibodies to several strains of pneumooccal, so it seemed the pneumonia shots worked well for me!

I had Prevnar 13 last year and had an 10cm/4 inch sized red swelling and tenderness in the area for a few days. Nothing major. It went away on its own.
