Has anyone received this vaccine while taking imbruvica and does the vaccine work?

I have not taken the vaccine, but my doctor has recommended I take it, ergo he must think it works. I checked in both with him and the pharmacist about whether I should take an ibrutinib "vacation" before taking the vaccine. Both told me I can and should stay on ibrutinib when I take prevnar vaccine. I did have the other pneumonia vaccine recently and a flu shot without any adverse reactions. My regular doctor for all things not cll has been on my butt for a while to take the prevnar vaccine. I shall probably take the shingrix vaccine at the same time.

I’ve had it but who knows if it worked as I haven’t had any antibody tests. Definitely worth having.

Dear tlclsdygiraffe, I have had it while I was on Imbruvica. So far so good. No pneumonia! My arm was sore for 2 days but I’m pretty sore after most shots that I get every year.
