Good morning everyone
I wondered if anyone has had a similar experience, with inhaled Colomycin.
I've lived with bronchiectasis all of my life , just like many others in the group, I bet.
I've had the "usual" bacteria's haemophilus etc,) that we're susceptible to .
Now I'm trying to get my Pseudomonas levels down.
After two weeks of IV's , I started nebulised Colomycin.
After only a few day's I noticed the decrease of phlegm, and the colour had got lighter , and felt the best I'd been in a long time, I was delighted with the result.
However I'm now on week six and have went from having a wet productive cough to an extremely dry persistent cough.
My wife said I used to make bubbling and crackling sounds in between coughing when I was asleep, but now I'm whistling and have a persistent dry cough. I don't know how she puts up with me.
My ribs, etc feel even more painful when coughing and I'm finding it difficult to clear the phlegm despite this routine ....
I take Acepiro to help break up the phlegm.
Do lung clearance techniques ,
Postural drainage.
Use an aerobika device etc .
I always nebulise Salbutamol before starting the nebulised Colomycin
I'm using my inhalers so much because of the chest tightness that I feel shaky.
My mouth and throat are always dry despite drinking so much water.
I tried Oralieve dry mouth relief but it doesn't seem to be working.
I thought my quality of life was going to get better with the Colomycin, but now I feel these different symptoms are making me just as miserable.
I'm desperate for the Colomycin to work to prevent me requiring frequent intravenous antibiotics.
Has anyone experienced this, or have any advice and tips, I would greatly appreciate it.
Sorry the post is so long.
Thank you.
