what to expect with bronchiectasis

Bronchiectasis Toolbox at bronchiectasis.com.au is quite comprehensive.
Just been diagnosed myself in last 12 months. I’d recommend Bronchiectasis Toolkit at brochiectasis.com.au
Have a look at the asthma and lung conditions website. Look at individual diseases. Also join the asthma and lung conditions thread on HU. There’s life long bronchs on there with a wealth of knowledge. Your husband needs a respiratory consultant who specialises in Bronchiectasis. He should see a physio to help with getting rid of the mucus. He should have carbocistene or similar to thin the mucus. The consultant should also tell your GP which antibiotic to prescribe in case of an infection. At least two week course. He will need to get the mucus tested to see if he needs a different one. Once on top of it he should lead a near normal life.
Welcome to the forum.mooka has covered lots of info.the main element of bronchiectasis is self care - taking meds, keeping active and doing 2x daily lung clearance as we produce excess mucous.there are videos & info on lung clearance techniques on aluk website.hubby, and u, should try to avoid people with viruses as they often lead to exacerbations, which can cause more lung damage x
