I was recently signposted as this may be my diagnosis by a GP and I'm awaiting a consultant appointment with Rheumatology as appose to a liver specialist despite me questioning this. I have no inflammation markers on my bloods but I do on my antibodies and smooth muscle blood counts which his why it's suspected AIH. I am self employed and do a physical job but in the past week my joint pain has massively increased, I have problems with grip strength and I am constantly exhausted. Going to the loo is awful, it's beige and sometimes orange (sorry to be descriptive) and I feel like have no interest in anything or doing anything. I need any hints or tips anyone can give on diet or natural supplements to help me get through the days until I see a consultant because I can't have anymore time off (currently taking cold liver, glucosamine chondroitin msm, turmeric, Naproxen and Paracetamol). Plus my wife has M.E and struggles day to day and I need to keep our small holding going so need any or all advice I can receive please ✊🙏

I’d echo Buddy, particularly on the turmeric. My hepatologist recently did a referral for me to see a rheumatologist, if you have aches and pains it could be arthritis or any number of other things. It’s important to rule that out rather than assume it’s your liver. Fatigue can be a *** as I’m sure your other half could tell you. Can you get any help in on the small holding until you know what you’re dealing with. You may need to pace yourself for a while. Prioritise, do what you. An and then sleep. Lots of us have afternoon naps on here. Your body gives you no choice. Give yourself a break from anything that could make things worse, particularly alcohol and strong chemicals. Wear gloves and a mask if you have to handle anything potentially toxic at work. I hope you get answers soon. It’s really hard being self employed and I’ll. look into benefits that might help you through this rough patch. Citizens Advice will be able to help.
you should not be taking any supplements without asking your Consultant. I have AIH have been told not to take any, some can damage your liver further. Do not take anything with Ibuprofen either, just paracetamol. The fatigue is bad until you start medication. Especially keep away from things like tumeric supplements. Have you had a liver biopsy???? That’s the usual way to diagnose AIH.

I have been prescribed Azathioprine,by my rheumatologist. It has helped with my pain and stiffness. Also, it has brought down my liver inflammation. To the point that my liver enzymes are all in normal range. So it’s been a win-win for me.
Hope this information helps and you get the relief you need from Pain
