Morning everyone. Can I ask if anyone takes supplements for weak and sore joint muscles? I have thought about taking magnesium calcium and zinc supplement but don't know if its worth adding 3 more tablets onto all my daily prescribed meds?? I have also heard milk thistle is a good option also. What are the opinions on that. Will try anything to help keep my liver functioning

Hi Annie. I have joint pain and been diagnosed with Osteopenia and just lately with Osteoarthritis in my hips and knees. I take a calcium/vitamin D tablet twice a day and I take an Alendronic Acid tablet once a week. This was advised to my GP by my transplant team. If you take any extra tablets for joints etc it is best to go through your specialist or GP because some tablets can react on others, even health supplements that you would think are totally harmless Best wishes. Good morning.
Alfredthe great is absolutely correct. Always discuss with your medical team first, 'healthy' supplements are not regulated in the same way as prescription medicines and can, on occasions, do more harm than good.

Hi Annie, I agree with the previous posts, see your doc before you take any supplements. Milk thistle is a definite No No, it harms the liver.
