Good evening everyone..I am so sorry for the late post! This week has just flown by & I completely forgot to check in with all my lovely questers!!!
How are you all doing? Are you still on track? My RED January has not happened at all..I’m still struggling to find my mojo but I’m determined that this next week I am going out to find it, starting tomorrow!!
I’ve been laying my running gear out every night in the hope that my mojo will return in my sleep but so far, it’s still in hiding!
How’s the weather where you are now? At last the snow and ice have gone and everything is back to ‘normal’ so I can’t even use that as an excuse!! I’m loving reading all you goals and quests for the month so let me know how it’s going & send me some of your determination!!
For any newbies, here’s an introduction to the Quest…
The aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.
The Quest takes one calendar month. You can join at any point during that time.
You need to be a C25K Graduate before joining the Quest. The reason for this is that pre-graduation your week is very much structured, according to the C25K programme, and I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.
Most popular goals are:
★ To run three times a week
★ To slowly increase distance
★ To train for a specific race
★ To add strength and flex exercises to your weekly routine
This is a personal challenge, so it's completely up to you! If you want to join, all you have to do is comment below with something like: “I would like to join the quest”, or, “count me in! I would like to...”
Don’t forget about MissUnderstanding and her 10k group if distance is your quest
Any questions, just ask! Come and say hi 👋….we want to know what you're aiming for!
Happy questing everyone

Hi there Mummycav . Sorry to hear you haven't found your mojo.
I'm still busy REDing. Following a HM plan and doing just 2k on my "rest" days. Running evenings afterwork has always been a challenge for me but the RED challenge is just enough yo get me out of the door and I feel so much better for it!
If you live somewhere with routes that are safe after dark maybe you couldave try a very short MOJO hunting run in the dark with your disco light chest band ? Goodluck !!
Thanks for these posts that keep the rest of us motivated knowing that you are watching us 👀 !
I’m starting work a bit later in the morning so maybe I can go for a quick scan first thing…I’m planning on some evening hunting this week…let’s see if it happens?!
I’m so happy that you are continuing your REDing…I know that satisfactory feeling afterwards..I just need to remember it and take it with me when I go out x
It's a funny old time isn't it? I can't report anything very fabulous about my own headline goals... perhaps they are the sort too easy to kick like a can down the road? I said I'd keep the usual sort of goals in the background... and I am mostly getting my pelvic floor exercises done. Yoga went very fallow after a good start to the month but I've just picked up again and considering strategies (eg following a class programme of short sessions) to keep the momentum . Packing up boxes and bags for charity shop donations hasn't happened yet - our Christmas decorations are down but are still all over the front room waiting to be conveyed to the loft. Weight.... well the fridge is emptying of leftovers, and I am eyeing the scales somewhat concernedly... I wouldn't be surprised if physical inactivity has something to do with them being above where I want them to be at the end of the month... between the snow and other stuff, and fatigue levels, the apps think I am hibernating. However, I am pleased with some of the choices I have made - visiting or phoning elderly relatives in the slots where I might otherwise have run or walked.
But I would like to share a little run I did - I think I was getting weighed down thinking it had to be a 5K. This was only 10 minutes and in its way, very disagreeable, grey, foggy, steep and all the wrong sort of mud. But it brought me considerable joy.
That’s fantastic GoogleMe ..it’s strange is t it, that we set out with a goal and are disappointed if yee don’t quite make it and forget to take the positives out of what we have actually managed?!
It doesn’t take 2 minutes to fill the fridge for Christmas does it but emptying it is another matter? I think as we wade our way through the goodies over Christmas it’s like they don’t matter, but when the devs come down there’s some sort of guilt hidden in the packaging!! And every time you open the fridge m, there they are, staring right at you!!! And when the scales show a little bit more than we’d like, the motivation sinks…I think that’s what’s happened here too…but, I am hopefully making some time to go out and hunt for that illusive mojo of mine…good luck with this next week
It was also a very slow start from me here, in 2025.
I didn’t even put out my running gear, waiting for my MoJo to return after my flu stint. But I’m sure it will return for you, and it has returned to me finally…. because ….
… I’m getting there with my quests! And that’s why I love my fitness diary, as I had jotted down some goals for January, some of them for completing some plans and some for starting some fitness plans. And looking over that this morning … I can see I’ve made real inroads.
So we might think our MoJo has gotten the better of us, but when we look more closely, it might be surprising how much we achieve in little steps!
Here my continued quest plans:
Rowing: have started my Half Marathon Plan as planned. I am on week 1 day 4 of a 12 week rowing plan.
Walking: yeah, still minimum walking. But it’s a mix now between walking outside and walking on my treadmill, where I have a plan.
Running: I’ve done my first run of my new 6 week plan yesterday! Yey! It’s a Runner‘s works plan, and this first 30 min run felt great, yesterday!
Other: I’ve started more seriously doing standing and sitting intervals again at my standing desk. I had let that slip during my recovery and illness, but am STEFFING again in the mornings at work .
There you go! We achieve much through little steps! Sending you some MoJo, but by now you probably have found some!
I love you froggie in his Warrior 3 pose it made me smile.
My Mojo is still around. Although, we do like to lie in during these dark mornings. I'm so impressed by those that rise and shine with the birds.
I have finished all of my Wk 8 runs re-d.oingc25k but have yet to start wk 9. Doing a yoga practice last week Adriene called for some hip dips in forearm plank. There were some different lizard moves too. (Extra stretchy). This particular practice has not agreed with me, and I now have a thigh strain. It hurts to lift my left leg.
So, listening to my body I am resting until the pain goes away.
This is very frustrating as the yoga is supposed to strengthen me, and its the first time I have picked up a niggle doing it.
Ho hum, back to my knitting as I wait it out.
Good luck to you and those searching for your Mojo's. Going for a Strava badge or ticking off a guided run is helpful to me.
🍏Sorry about that strain! Glad you are resting it & hope it sorts itself out quickly! Yes I agree those ✅ are great motivation. At least the knitting is getting a look in as is my crochet! 🧶 Take care now! Xx
Well that’s so true Bluebirdrunner ..those lie ins on Saturdays and Sundays are sooo tempting..especially in this cold weather! Hopefully I’m rising with the birds in the morning..
Well done on your completion of week 8 but also sorry about your yoga niggle..hope it’s fixed soon otherwise you’ll end up with a doctor who scarf!! X
My quest was to run 8k this month, but due to the icy conditions we’ve had I’m not sure it will happen this month I was pleased with my 2 runs last week though, it was good to be back to it
Hi Mummycav , January is such a tough month if you're trying to do anything dependent on outdoors isn't it? Maybe we should save our New Year's Resolutions until March 😂Things have definitely improved since last week, I've finally managed to have a run so am making the most of a couple more days of pleasant spring like sunshine before returning home to cold, gloom and mud.
My Quest is now to make up lost ground on the 10k/60 minutes Challenge. If I can manage another couple of runs before I get home it might just set me up to carry on. As always, the goal is consistency!!!
Ohhh that’s such a good idea Yesletsgo ..Marching on..in March..has a good ring to it!!?!
We have had a sunny day or two since the snow but it’s still been cold..I’m glad you managed a sunny run..I hope it cleared your head, you’ve had so much going on recently , I’m sure it was much needed..
